CageList ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our platform, website, and services.
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, payment information, and profile details. If you apply to join the Builder Network, we also collect business name, owner or contact name, website, service area, specialties, portfolio photos, and related application materials. If you request builder quotes — through the ROI calculator opt-in, a builder profile contact form, or similar tools — we collect your project details (such as location, budget range, timeline, install preference, and optional notes) along with your contact information. We also collect automatically: device information, IP address, browser type, pages visited, and usage patterns through cookies and analytics tools (PostHog, Google Analytics).
We use your information to: provide, maintain, and improve the Platform; process bookings and payments; review and publish approved builder directory profiles; qualify, match, and distribute build-lead opportunities; send transactional emails and notifications related to builder applications, lead offers, and lead matches; communicate with you about your account, bookings, and builder inquiries; send marketing communications (with your consent); personalize your experience; ensure safety and prevent fraud; comply with legal obligations; and generate anonymized, aggregated analytics.
We share your information with: Hosts (when you make a booking, Hosts receive your name, contact information needed to coordinate the booking, booking details, and any information you choose to share through the Platform); Builders (when you opt in to builder matching, we may share an anonymized project summary with selected Builders before contact details are disclosed; if a Builder claims a lead, that Builder receives your name, email, and phone number so they can follow up about your project; when you submit a quote request from an individual Builder's public profile, your contact information and message are shared directly with that Builder); payment processors (Stripe processes all transactions); service providers (Sentry for error monitoring, Resend for emails, Twilio for SMS, Supabase for hosting/auth/database infrastructure, Google Maps/Places for location features, PostHog and Google Analytics for analytics); and law enforcement when required by law. Approved Builder Network profiles may display business and portfolio information publicly in the builder directory. Builders are independent third parties, and their use of information you share with them is governed by their own privacy practices. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. CageList does not store your full credit card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs the collection and use of your payment information. Host payouts are processed through Stripe Connect.
CageList LLC (cagelist.com) may send SMS messages to users who provide a mobile phone number, including one-time verification codes, booking confirmations, booking inquiries, booking approvals, booking declines, booking expiration notices, booking reminders, and message-received alerts. We do not send SMS marketing or promotional text messages unless you separately opt in. Message frequency varies based on your account activity and booking activity. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from SMS; you may receive one confirmation that you have been opted out. Reply HELP for assistance, or email support@cagelist.com. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of using CageList; however, opting out may limit your ability to receive time-sensitive booking notices by text. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number, your SMS opt-in status, or the content of your text messages with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Twilio Inc. processes SMS delivery on our behalf as a service provider under a Data Processing Agreement and does not use your data for its own marketing.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Booking records are retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance. Build-lead and builder-application records may be retained to support lead distribution, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time (see Your Rights below), subject to records we must keep for legal, tax, or safety reasons.
We implement industry-standard security measures including: HTTPS encryption for all data transmission; encrypted storage for sensitive data; regular security audits; access controls and authentication; and secure payment processing through Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant).
Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; delete your personal information; opt out of marketing communications; export your data in a portable format; and restrict or object to certain processing activities. If you opted in to builder matching but your project has not yet been shared with Builders, contact us to withdraw that consent. Once contact details have been disclosed to a Builder who claimed a lead or received a direct quote request, we cannot control how that Builder uses the information they received. CageList is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal data), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Sharing contact information with independent Builders to fulfill a quote request or lead match you authorize is a disclosure for business purposes, not a sale of personal information.
